The therapy can remove unsightly veins from all parts of the body. Small, facial veins (or “telangiectasia”) can be treated quickly without bruising or complication. Spider veins and large blue leg veins can also be treated with excellent results. Knotty varicose veins are not good candidates. A careful evaluation with your physician will help you determine which vessels can be treated and the best course of treatment.
The Cutera CoolGlide laser generates a pulse of intense, concentrated light which is directed through a small, cooled hand piece which is gently applied to the treatment site. The surface of the skin is protected by a gold plated cooling head which glides over the skin (Cutera CoolGlide) half a second before the laser beam. This selectivity helps to protect the skin, while effectively treating the unwanted vessels. The Cutera CoolGlide laser can be used just about anywhere on the body, and even sensitive areas such as the nose and cheeks can be treated easily and with minimal discomfort.
Cutera CoolGlide laser treatment is a safe, fast, gentle and effective method for removal of unwanted blood vessels. In just a few treatment sessions (in some cases only a single treatment session) using the gentle power of lasers, we can greatly improve the appearance of skin which is disfigured by unwanted blood vessels and broken capillaries.

One or two treatments are sufficient. However, the number of treatments necessary depends on the number, colour, and size of the vessels being treated plus individual results vary. Individual treatment plan will be discussed at initial consultation.
Following treatment, some redness or bruising may occur. When larger veins are treated, a tan or brownish pigment may persist for a few weeks or months following treatment. Patients who have leg vein treatments may be advised to wear support hose for a short period of time.
Although many patients report few if any side effects, those most commonly noticed are slight reddening and local swelling of the skin. These effects typically last for less than 24 hours. Some patients may experience bruising and, in rare instances, blistering may occur. Consult with your medical professional for complete information about the benefits and risks of treatment.
